Hear how the community of Sidney, NE turned their community around after the departure of Cabela's/Bass Pro. When Bass Pro bought out long time business Cabela's and moved the operations to Missouri, citizens of Sidney made a decision to prove people wrong. One newspaper article was even published that the last person out of Sidney should turn out the lights. The citizens came together and made a difference in their community. They went from having over 200 houses for sale after the closing of the headquarters to being in a housing shortage in 2024.

Alder explained that Norfolk already had a housing issue in 2013, with 43 dwelling units available, and showed how their progress of 335 dwelling units as of 2020 has impacted the community. One of Norfolk's solutions to housing was to expand rental or apartment opportunities as well as homes for sell, this helped being in newcomers that were not ready to commit to buying a house as of yet.

Marty Barnhart, Executive Director of Omaha Municipal LandBank presented during the 2018 February HomeNE Webinar. He discussed what a Land Bank does and what kinds of properties they target. Barnhart also presented on both the short-term and long-term impact measures including: property-tracking system implemented, inspiring change in neighborhoods and families, decrease in vacant lots, and increase in real estate development. An end-use partnership strategy was also shared; demonstrating how LandBank tackles projects, assistance within city redevelopment areas, and how they work with partners in their focus areas.
